Searching for Common Ties

Welcome to our travel blog, Searching for Common Ties in America.

My name is Elizabeth Armstrong Moore, and I will be filing multimedia dispatches from throughout the lower 48 states. My twin brother James Armstrong will be producing these dispatches, as well as helping out with the reporting and travel logistics along the way.

This is an ambitious trip. And an ambitious blog. We are on the hunt for good stories about people, famous and otherwise, but good stories do not always tell themselves. With your input we can pursue a range of stories, many of which will be told through audio slideshows and photo essays. And unlike most newspaper articles I write, these posts will be written in the first person.

We hope to be able to post stories with themes that illustrate our common ties as people, as well as focus on the extent to which we have lost ties with our past. Learn more about what inspired this blog on the About page.

Here, James and I simply want to introduce ourselves. We are very excited about our trip – and about pursuing the stories you submit! Please don’t be shy: Weigh in by sending your ideas and advice through our Contact page.
