Thank you for this awesome story, i truly loved it! I am the grand-daughter and ,as well their god-daughter of one of the other eight children they raised. All while he was making his way, in the white world. I believe i had a helping hand with that, as my mother married a frenchman, and i quote him from a birchisland conference that he spoke at "When i sobered up,my daughter(Ida) married a frenchmen,(my father Edward Martel who has joined my grandpa and grandma in the spirit world)and i had to learn to love that man,the beautiful grand-daughter they gave me, a nice little blonde that i almost spoiled, i still love her from the deep of my heart, and all my other grandchildren that are french, half french. These are the things that the hatred i had for the people...but things are turned around, and i loved everybody,I loved the frenchmen,I loved everybodyfrom all walks of life" Thats just a portion of that Birch Island conference, theres more, I just wanted to share that with you, as well as all your readers. My Grandpa nicknamed me "Big Blonde", said he could always pick me out, when i was on the rez park, I miss hearing him call me that...I just miss HIM, and im happy that my grandma and my dad is with him, and that they will be there to greet me when my time has come to meet the Creator.

I would like to invite Margaret G Chiblow, to email me if possible,I would like to get to know you! bmartel@live.ca

Thank you Karen for sharing your story with me, I am Richard Chiblow's Grand daughter and never had the honor of meeting this fine man. I feel closer to him knowing what a wonderful man he was. Like him I enjoy learning about my culture, and I am glad I came upon this site.

Aahnii! Karen, we had met sometime ago, after my grandfather passed onto the Spirit World. I am here reading this aloud to my son, Anthony R. Chiblow, I feel as though sometimes my grandfather is near him, keeping him on the traditional path. As my son is a great and powerful grassdancer at a young age.
We Thank You for this story
Chi-Miigwetch,
Sonia & Anthony
