Common Ties Introduces Video Answers

Video Submission Guidelines

1. Content: We are seeking answers to one or more of our 20 Questions.
2. Video length: The shorter the better. We prefer videos that are 3 minutes or less.
3. Video type: You can either film your own answers, interview someone else, or adapt any Common Ties answer(s) on our site to video.
4. Submit: Post your video on YouTube, tag it www.CommonTies.com and email the link to CT20Questions@gmail.com
5. Pay: Our typical range is $50 to $200 per accepted video, depending on quality, creativity, and general viewer popularity on YouTube.
6. Review: As with all answers, we review submission within 14 days and only contact those whose answers we wish to buy. Sorry, we do not provide feedback.
7. Legal: You must have approval to use the images and voices of everyone that appears on your video, and of any music. (We cannot buy the rights to video that includes copyrighted music.)
8. Contract: If we purchase your video, you will be asked to sign our standard submission agreement granting us non-exclusive rights to your video.

    Sounds cool, but i hope this won’t replace or lessen the amount of written responses you print. Video rocks, but the written word can have power that sometimes images can’t attain.

    That is true, I agree with Heidi, the written word can have such amazing power. Plus a lot of the anonymity will be lost with video. I still prefer still images and words, it’s faster to peruse and requires less patience than waiting for a video to load. I hope you’ll still accept written entries.
